STRENGTHS:
Noble: Ren is deeply committed to the cause of justice, and acts in a way that he feels is right whenever possible. Ren is uncompromising in his view of justice and works to find ways to best help those wronged by society. Ren is always willing to put the needs of others before himself, and he will put his own life on the line to save another person, which has earned him a number of lifelong friends and allies. For Ren, saving someone isn't a debate, it's a directive that he will fulfill without hesitation.
Confident: Ren has a natural aura of confidence that can be as infectious as it is inspiring. He always seems to have a plan and always seems to be willing to dive head-first into danger, with a seemingly uncanny knowledge that he will be successful. Ren strongly believes in himself and his allies, and those who stand with him find themselves believing the same.
Natural Leader: Ren is a skilled tactician, calculated and yet bold, and the force of his personality and ideals inspires people to follow him. When the chips are on the table his charisma and confidence drives people to believe in him and to follow his lead as they work together to achieve their goals. Ren is skilled at directing his allies in combat, able to move them on the battlefield like a Chess or Shogi player (he indeed studies tactics by learning Shogi). FLAWS:
Reckless: While Ren is capable of being tactically minded, he has a tendency to throw himself into a situation without thinking if something happens right in front of him. He's also more likely to put himself in a position of heightened risk if he believes it will ultimately bring about the successful acquisition of his goals. This does have some overlap with his inherent nobility, he's prone to acting without thinking in many cases because he's driven by doing the right thing. He does, however, have a degree of lack of regard for his own personality that certainly abuts self-destructiveness.
Anti-Authority: Ren is deeply anti-authority, to a somewhat excessive level. He's inherently mistrustful of authority figures and sees many of them as responsible for many of the ills he and his peers suffer. While he will obey and bow to authority, he is seldom happy about it and will usually chafe under the authority, making subtle jabs at the figure or even becoming openly defiant. While he can exist in a situation where he is under some authority if the authority figure is someone he personally respects, he's still inclined to bend or ignore rules if it benefits him or someone else, he'll just be less obvious about it.
Closed Off: As is common for Persona characters, Ren's outward presentation is a mask used to exist peacefully in society. The mask imagery is more literal in his case, he presents as quiet and polite outwardly, but he lets very few people inside and keeps his feelings close to his chest. His "true" personality is more commonly reflected when he adopts the persona of Joker, where he tends to be more dramatic, gregarious, and aggressive. Ren is slow to trust, especially due to his circumstances, and as such lets very few people see the "real him".

-Grew up in a smaller town Honshu with his older brother Hibiki
-Got between a powerful politician assaulting someone and accidentally hurt him trying to separate them
-Got arrested and taken to court by said politician who threatened his victim for a favorable testimony
-Got moved to a Tokyo school due to his shiny new criminal record
-Stumbled into the Outlands and awoke his Flame, unleashing the daemonic presence within him known as "Arsene".
-Made contact with the Daemon Igor who took an interest in his power and helped him learn how to bind other lesser Daemons to his will
-Learned how to enter Palaces, ego-driven Outland constructs reflecting intense distortions within certain human psyches, and steal the treasure within, reforming the target human and removing the distortion
-Got picked up by Daybreak Academy
AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION: Due to having an older brother, Ren is a bit more openly mischievous and a bit less standoffish than in canon. The two have a close but sometimes adversarial relationship, often trying to get one over the other brother as siblings often do, and being the younger brother Ren has become adept at "playing to the crowd" for sympathy and laughs. That's not to say he's much more emotionally open than in canon, but on the surface he's more outwardly affable and a bit less quiet than in canon.
RACE: Human
SECRET SOCIETY: Ren is a Candle, but will be helping form an informal group of people like him who have made contact and formed a contract with Igor. Igor's contract is different from standard Daemon Contracts in that Igor is providing some basic assistance in exchange for being able to observe Ren's growth, Ren does not draw his power from Igor in any sense of the word.
POWERS: Ren holds within him the power to summon forth his Persona, an Outland Spirit that formed within him representing his inner rage and rebellion and represented as something of daemonic, otherworldly representation of the fictional gentleman thief Arsene Lupin. This comes with the ability to garb himself in a kind of metaphysical armor that represents the form of his rebellion. Taking the form of a long black trenchcoat, dress slacks, suit, red gloves, and a white and black mask, this outfit provides a degree of protection from the supernatural threats of the Outlands. By removing his mask, Ren can call forth Arsene, who he can use to channel certain abilities such as attack magic or strengthening his physical attacks.
Beyond that, he has the ability to capture lesser Daemons within the Outlands and seal them within his mask, allowing him to take on their powers as an additional Persona. His Contract with Igor allows him to access the Velvet Room, where these captured Persona can be fused into stronger ones.
Finally, he has enhanced physical capabilities through use of his Persona, allowing him to jump higher and move faster than a regular human might normally be able to do. Also, because his personal Persona is Arsene, he has a bit of a knack for French and will learn the language faster than normal.
